Physical Education 9
Credits 0.5Grade 9 PE introduces students to a wide range of activities that encourage an exploration of the connection between physical activity and lifelong health and health-related fitness. The course provides an introduction to strength principles and the skills, techniques and safety necessary to engage in strength-related exercise. Through a variety of sports, students demonstrate basic strategies and an understanding of rules that shape different games. Students develop interpersonal skills such as cooperation, communication and conflict management. Assessment and maintenance of one’s personal fitness level is encouraged through Independent Fitness through understanding the concepts and principles required to improve one’s health and performance.
