Beliefs: Health Education

Comprehensive health education provides students with opportunities to acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for making health-promoting decisions, achieving health literacy, adopting health-enhancing behaviors, and promoting the health of others. We believe that students are most successful in an environment that promotes healthy habits, healthy relationships and balanced wellbeing.

Disciplinary transfer goals: Students will independently use their learning to:

  1. Critically evaluate health information and external influences to make informed decisions that promote health and wellbeing;
  2. Advocate for the health and wellbeing of self and others in response to changing environments and needs;
  3. Use interpersonal communication skills to manage conflict, maintain healthy relationships and improve quality of life.
