Course Description

Christian Discipleship offers the chance for students to be supported with their own Christian journey through mentoring, teaching and reflection. The course gives students the opportunity to develop their Christian faith in a safe environment. The course focuses on specific areas of discussion and study to enable students to better appreciate their own spiritual journey in a Christian context.

The course is designed for students with prior background in Christianity who are interested in deepening their Christian faith.

Questions covered would include:

  • How should being a Christian affect one’s life?
  • What does it mean to be made in God’s Image?
  • How can I deal with challenges in life such as distractions and disappointments?
  • How can the Bible be relevant to me in 2026?
  • Does prayer really make a difference?
Learning Outcomes

Students will:

  • Have a firm understanding of Salvation as God’s gift of Grace and not from doing ‘good deeds’
  • Gain a clear grasp of what Jesus came to do, to teach and to model
  • Appreciate how our humanity affects our Christian walk and what to do about It
  • Have an appreciation of Christian disciplines such as prayer, Scripture and worship
  • Engage in constructive rational dialogue with mutual respect for others
  • Develop a habit of self-reflection in their Christian journey
Assessment

Assessment will be based upon meaningful participation in class discussions, reflections and projects.
