AP English Language and Composition is an amazing course for building your foundational writing skills, aiding you in developing your style, ideas, and persuasive structuring that is transferable to any avenue. The establishment of the AP Rubric from the get-go is one of the most useful practices, because it seasons you to think and formulate a great essay in the span of 40 minutes. Additionally, feedback from the teachers during office hours really helps detect fallacies or shortcomings that when reflected upon, truly take your writing to the next level! All in all, this course is one that is a step further from your regular English class, pushing your bounds and incubating the writer in you.
AP English Language and Composition is one of the most useful classes offered in your high school career, for both humanities and STEM students alike. Not only does it expose you to a variety of interesting literature and media that you'll want to explore in your own time, but it also teaches you essential skills for literary analysis: how to read quickly, how to understand a poem and it's essential components at first glance, how to synthesize rather than explain your evidence, and how to craft a well-developed essay. I’ve already seen how this class has strengthened my writing across subjects, so I highly recommend it. Be sure to meet with your teacher regularly and seek detailed feedback—it’s one of the best ways to improve and get the most out of the course. Have fun writing!
AP Lang is a class for students who want to push themselves and grow as writers. This class centers on three types of writing to match with the final exam in May, the synthesis essay, rhetorical analysis essay and the argument essay. The reading aspect of the class is low, but there is a lot of in-class writing to be done, and gradually shortening to fit within the constraints of the AP test timing. Though the AP test may seem daunting, this class will overprepare you for it so you can achieve your highest potential for success.
AP English Language & Composition is a course designed for students who want to elevate their writing skills and challenge themselves. This course does contain challenging material, and initially, you may feel confined by the strict rubric, but eventually, you will be able to incorporate your unique writing styles into your essays. This course has helped me build confidence in my writing and has made essay writing feel effortless across all my classes.
